I had the opportunity to attend Fanny Aymer’s lecture on the theme “I am committed” as part of my course at My Talent Academy in Luxembourg. She spoke about how the choir director engages a group in the service of a common work. I found this talk very enriching and interesting. We discovered her musical background and her passionate talent.

When I met Fanny during choral conducting courses, I immediately felt that her personality and her rich musical background gave her a great advantage as a choral conductor. Fanny is a conductor who knows how to achieve excellence in a group without ever losing her friendly, communicative and unifying enthusiasm. It is for these reasons that she and I have worked together with several choirs that I conduct, including the choir at the Orange company headquarters.

I had a lot of fun singing under Fanny’s conducting. I especially appreciated her ability to share her enthusiasm for music. She always knew how to create a positive and warm atmosphere within the choir. Thanks to her charisma and high standards, we were able to perform concerts of which we were very proud!

I got to know Fanny Aymer well at Orange and I was able to appreciate her warm, natural and simple authority. Fanny has a strong sense of ‘choral management’, it seems to be a natural part of her!  With gentleness and a smile, she knows how to move the choir forward. She remains calm, which is very much appreciated. Her double knowledge of both music (she plays the piano brilliantly) and the business world has brought a lot to our choir at Orange.

Fanny has that wonderful quality of being both serious and making us laugh! She has managed to weld our group together and has always been very attentive to our suggestions and attentive with each one of us to make us learn our voices. And for the songs, there was something for everyone. I have some happy memories of our concerts.

Fanny is a passionate, very professional and charismatic choir conductor. She knows how to unite the whole choir around a common project. Through her great dynamism, her communicative joy for the music and work well done, her sense of listening, she motivates everyone to give the best for the greatest benefit of all. Her great skills in musicality and her acute artistic sense enable her to achieve a very accomplished and high quality result.

The choir creates a bond that is very different from other leisure activities (sport or visits to museums). My colleagues have become choir mates. When the voices unite and come into harmony, we look at each other amazed at what beautiful things we have produced together. We are making and sharing music, and it’s an incomparable feeling.

Thanks to Fanny’s rigorous work and her goodwill, a framework is established within which everyone can move forward – with or without any notion of music theory – learning to listen to others and to tune into the ensemble.

The choir has become an indispensable break in my working week. It’s a relaxed, fun and friendly way of getting together where you learn to listen to yourself and to others. I love the dynamism and passion with which Fanny leads the classes, and I appreciate that they are adapted to all levels. In short, it’s a great experience for body and mind!

With her good humor and enthusiasm, Fanny is the glue that holds any group together. We learn to sing together in a positive and supportive atmosphere, and it feels so good to rediscover this little bubble of camaraderie every week.

The choir creates a bond that’s very different from other leisure activities (sports or museum visits). My colleagues have become choirmates. When our voices blend and harmonize, we look at each other, amazed by the beautiful sound we’ve created together. We make and share music; it’s an incomparable feeling. Thanks to Fanny’s rigorous approach and her kindness, a framework is established in which everyone can progress—with or without prior knowledge of music theory—learning to listen to others and blend into the ensemble.

Fanny is an exceptional choir master. She has this ability to respectfully draw out the confidence and motivation we all need to sing together. And that creates connection and joy.

It brings me joy and gives me a chance to unwind after work—but at work (which is a powerful aspect of ‘employer branding’ when people associate the two). Singing in a group allows me to express myself and be recognized in a different way. It creates relationships at work that are unfiltered, free from hierarchy and simple, and this makes day-to-day working life easier.

Fanny has a very professional and pedagogical approach.

Fanny puts everyone at ease, even beginners. Her joy and good humour are infectious. She’s a pro who takes a relaxed approach.

I’ve discovered new, funny, and warm people with whom you inevitably share the joy of singing, pushing each other to be better. The pleasure of singing in a choir is always there, whether there are 10 or 30 of us.

Fanny knows how to lead us musically with rigor, but also and especially with good humor. We leave the session relaxed, full of joy, and with songs in our heads.

Fanny is very motivated to teach us to sing, even if we don’t know how, and persistent in helping us sing better. She’s very dynamic.

I love the Monday lunch break when we sing together. Especially when we discover a new piece. In the afternoon, we leave with our heads full of music. A great way to start the week!

Fanny adapts to any group, level, or musical taste and manages to create something incredibly cohesive and polished. It’s so pleasant to work in such a supportive environment. Because we trust her, we follow her without hesitation wherever she wants to take us musically.

I appreciate her teaching style and the fact that she makes room for everyone, whatever their musical ability.

Fanny is very dynamic and always in a good mood. She has us work on unusual chords, and it works!

By uniting employees from various departments through singing week after week in our Bank’s Choir, our choir master, Fanny, is forging more authentic and lasting professional bonds. It’s a wonderful way to strengthen the cohesion that unites colleagues on a daily basis. Each rehearsal allows us to approach the rest of the workday with the attentiveness, serenity, and detachment that make work more efficient and enjoyable.

I feel like I’m still somewhat connected to the company I worked for, for over 30 years. I appreciate that a person’s department, position, or qualifications don’t seem to influence the collegiality and cooperation within the choir. Furthermore, each rehearsal leaves me with a certain sense of well-being because we progress each time, and the beautiful harmonies simply provide pleasant sensations in themselves.

Fanny allows us to sing, whether we have musical knowledge or not, and to enjoy it from the very first session by immediately putting us at ease.

I appreciate his willingness to listen and his sense of humour, as well as his ability to bring people together and boost confidence (both individual and within the group).

I appreciate the little messages before rehearsals (with the planned program). They’re a clever way to remind people about the rehearsal without saying, ‘Don’t forget the rehearsal!’ The sensitivity to individual situations, the ability to work on each person’s weaknesses, etc., are greatly appreciated.

Relaxation, new ambitions, memory activation, pride, a feeling of accomplishment.

Fanny has the ability to interpret the score very quickly on her piano and to give the exact right tone for the various vocal ranges with her voice. She has this great capacity for selective listening that allows her to quickly adjust the few voices that might sometimes be dissonant.

A breath of fresh air in a work week that allows you to completely change your mindset.

No criticism of wrong notes, gentle guidance towards the correct notes, no blame, motivation.

I will remember all my life the day I did my first vocal exercises with Fanny. I was surrounded by a sun that invited me to step outside of myself. When Fanny told me my voice was in tune, my confidence soared!

The HRS choir gives me a lot of pleasure. The weekly rehearsals take place in a great atmosphere; everyone is welcome regardless of their musical abilities. We laugh a lot together (especially when everyone completely messes up), which doesn’t mean it lacks seriousness—quite the opposite! Since we started, we’ve acquired a considerable repertoire and we’ve already had two public performances. Singing together is a welcome change of pace, presents us with challenges completely different from those of our daily lives, and allows us to get closer to colleagues we wouldn’t otherwise know. Each rehearsal gives me a good dose of endorphins.

As a beginner, Fanny helped me find my place in the choir. I really appreciate the lighthearted way she guides us, while patiently emphasizing the importance of certain passages that can make all the difference when singing. She motivates us by admiring our progress throughout the rehearsals. The atmosphere in the choir is pleasant, a certain gentleness emanates from it, an escape to the rhythm of beautiful melodies.

The choir is the joy of singing together; it’s a time for relaxation, sharing, and connecting… The pleasure and pride of achieving beautiful performances all together!

A huge thank you to you, Fanny, for these past few weeks of rehearsals. Your enthusiasm and contagious good humor brought smiles to our faces as we sang and gave us wings. All the best, and we look forward to seeing you enchant us again in the fall.
